How We Work

Policy Influence

Develop and promote policies that embrace the rural lexicon and seek to eradicate the marginalization of rural, poor and unincorporated communities. Educate policymakers, activists, the public and the academic community about rural air, water, and soil contamination issues in marginalized rural communities.

Technology Innovation

Facilitate the development and piloting of new technologies to sustainably and equitable address air, water, and soil contamination in rural communities.

Health Research

Conduct research in rural communities to identify and expose health and medical issues associated with exposure to air, water, and soil contamination.

Just Narrative

Use human rights and environmental justice principles to create a new framework of language and strategies that embrace the rural lexicon and increase awareness of air, water, and soil contamination issues in marginalized rural communities.

Leadership Development

Engage college students in real life situations where they learn to collaborate with rural community members in pursuit of solutions to improve air, water, and soil quality.
